Exclusive: Liverpool agree terms of £60,000-a-week wide man deal

Liverpool wide man Andy Robertson has agreed a new five-year contract which will double his wages to £60,000 a week, Football Insider sources understands.

Liverpool have been tying down a number of their stars to new deals with Sadio Mane and Joe Gomez both recently signing contract extensions and now Robertson is set to follow suit.

Liverpool are keen to reward the left-back for his rapid progress over the last 18 months since his arrival from Hull City in the summer of 2017.

Robertson has established himself as a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side and has been instrumental in helping them to the top of the Premier League table.

His form for Liverpool has also seen recognised on the international stage with Robertson winning the Scotland captaincy under Alex McLeish.

The 24-year-old initially had to wait before he got his chance in the Liverpool side, but since breaking into the side last December he has nailed down the left-back spot in Klopp’s plans.

Robertson’s all-action displays have made him a big crowd favourite among the Liverpool faithful and the new deal will keep him at Anfield until 2023.
