Report provides update on Spurs Star injury – likely to be fit to face Man City?

Tottenham Hotspur fear Dele Alli has broken his hand but there is a belief he will be able to play against Manchester City next week, according to the London Evening Standard.

Alli was substituted towards the end of Spurs’ 1-0 victory over City in the Champions League on Tuesday night after going down holding his left hand, which he appeared to have trouble moving.

The Standard claims the 23-year-old may have broken his wrist, but the club is exploring the possibility of Alli wearing a protective cast so that he can play in next week’s second leg at the Etihad.

He will almost certainly miss this weekend’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town at Tottenham’s new stadium, but in all honestly Mauricio Pochettino may have been considering resting his key attackers in that game regardless of injuries.

Spurs will hope Alli is available for next week’s trip to City following Harry Kane’s latest ankle injury – the striker could be out for the remainder of the season.
