RANGERS have open discussions with Charlton’s Joe Aribo over a possible move to Ibrox.
Rangers are among a host of clubs courting the 22-year-old which also includes Old Firm rivals Celtic as well as Premier League duo Southampton and Aston Villa.
Aribo was a vital part of the Charlton side that gained promotion from League One via the play-offs.
And while Rangers have begun discussions they are some way from completing any deal, reports the Daily Record.
Villa have been touted as his most likely destination with the 22-year-old keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Fellow Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo has been shortlisted as a possible alternative should Kent opt to remain in England.
One deal though that won’t be happening is one involving Swansea’s Martin Olsson.
The Swede is searching for a new club after his contract at the Liberty Stadium came to an end.
And despite Gerrard potentially looking to further his left-back options, Olsson is not seen as one he is interested in.
The Ibrox boss knows this summer is vital if his side are to bridge the gap to Celtic who recently won their eighth straight league title.
Rangers finished nine points behind their city rivals despite beating them twice this term.
