Zidane sets deadline to bring Spurs star to La Liga

Tottenham midfielder, Christian Eriksen’s future has been subject to a lot of speculation in the press over the last couple of months after the Dane admitted that he is seeking a new challenge and said he would be open to a move to Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

However, early reports indicated that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane preferred Manchester United’s Paul Pogba to the Spurs man, which lead to speculation that Eriksen might end up staying at Spurs (Telegraph).

However, Bernabeu Digital now report that Zidane has agreed to go ahead with a move for Eriksen after being frustrated in the club’s attempts to sign Pogba.

The report claims that the Madrid manager wishes to get all his signings in before the start of pre-season, which means the club have just seven days to secure Eriksen’s signing from Spurs.

If the Danish international does end up leaving the club, Spurs have reportedly identified Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso as the man to replace him (The Independent).
