According to the Daily Mirror, Kieran Tierney is ‘very keen’ to leave Celtic this summer.
Arsenal are eager to sign Tierney, and the Celtic man reportedly feels that the time has come to move on from Parkhead.
However, Celtic want to keep hold of the left-back and have rejected all offers so far.
Arsenal are now considering walking away from the transfer, which could leave the Celtic man disappointed.
Tierney has come through at Celtic and is unlikely to try and force his way out, but he may now be left disappointed if the reports are true.
Bhoys fans will, of course, be sceptical over suggestions that Tierney wanted to leave anyway, as he has such an affinity with the club.
Neil Lennon will almost certainly be delighted if Arsenal do end their interest in Tierney, as he is a huge fan of the left-back.
The Celtic boss recently stated that Tierney was as good as Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
“There’s no question Kieran could play in the Premier League. We’ve had van Dijk, Wanyama, Forster, Hooper, Dembele – all these players – and he is as good,” he said to the Daily Record.
“His rise has been meteroic. He is a top quality player, one of the best as in Britain. The transfer fee should merit that.”
Celtic would be losing out on making significant funds on Tierney if they do not sell to Arsenal this summer.
However, the Bhoys would show great ambition by keeping the Scottish international and it would be a huge boost to their title chances, as he is arguably the finest player at Parkhead.
