The journalist revealed in a Q&A session that Leeds want to tie down the Northern Ireland international to a new deal as he has just one year left on his present terms at Elland Road.

“They’re speaking with Klich and they’ll be targeting a new deal for Dallas too,” Hay stated.

“Both players’ current contracts expire at the end of this season, both are starters under Bielsa at present and both have earned a wage increase.

“You’d like to think that if Leeds can get Phillips done, which they have, they’ll be able to tie down the likes of Klich and Dallas.”

Dallas has become an important member of Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team this season and would appear to be one of the first names on the teamsheet at the present moment in time.

Valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt, the 28-year-old has played almost every single minute available in the Championship this season, having started all six games so far, which is a vast improvement compared to last year’s figures.

Admittedly, the Northern Ireland international had his injury troubles which meant he spent a lot of time on the sidelines, although the minutes were not as prevalent as they have been in the current campaign as he played a bit-part role for Bielsa (Transfermarkt).
