Norwich ace keen to step up; might be too soon

Norwich City youngster Adam Idah feels he is ready to make the step up to the club’s first-team after meeting demands.

The youngster has recently signed a new four-year contract at the club, which will see him earn £3,000 per week.

Idah recently made his senior debut for the Canaries, featuring in the 1-0 loss to Crawley Town, a game in which the striker contributed to the League Two side’s goal.

The Ireland under-21 international said: “My debut was a big night for myself and I’ve stayed training with the first-team since. I’ve really got up to the speed of things and am ready to step in if asked.” (Source: Pink Un)

An immediate move up to the first-team could be extremely difficult for the young Irishman, who is most likely currently playing third fiddle to the imperious Teemu Pukki and Josip Drmic, who recently returned from injury.

Pukki himself has enjoyed a stunning start to life in the top flight of English football, scoring five goals in his first four games, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United.
