Newcastle United have turned their attention towards Joe Worrall ahead of the January transfer window. According to The Sun, Nottingham Forest defender Worrall is a January target for Newcastle.
Steve Bruce is desperate to bring in defensive reinforcements to shore things up and prepare his side to battle against relegation. Therefore, Worrall has emerged as a top target. This report calims his contract is up in the summer and Newcastle want to sign him for a cut-price fee.
The 22-year-old is back at Nottingham Forest after finishing a mixed loan spell at Rangers. Since returning, the 6ft 4in centre-half has been a rock at the back, playing in every league game for Sabri Lamouchi’s team.
Worrall has already played more than 100 senior games for Dagenham & Redbridge, Nottingham Forest and Rangers combined. Newcastle hope he will follow Jamaal Lascelles from The City Ground to St James’ Park.
