Luke Garbutt has admitted that his parent club Everton are happy with the progress he is making during his loan spell at Portman Road, but has insisted he is fully focused on Ipswich Town for now.
The 26-year-old joined Ipswich on a season-long loan from Everton in the summer and has impressed so far, playing an important role in Town’s promising start to the new season.
The full-back has scored three goals in five appearances for the Tractor Boys so far, although he was forced to miss over a month of the campaign with a knee injury.
Ipswich have made a very promising start to their season in League One and are currently four points clear at the top of the table. Paul Lambert’s side are unbeaten in the league this season and have won their last five matches in all competitions.
The Tractor Boys will be looking to continue their momentum with another three points against Accrington Stanley at the weekend and Garbutt has been speaking to the club’s media ahead of the clash.
The full-back admitted that Everton watched him play in the 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town recently and that his parent club are pleased with the progress he is making at Portmand Road, although he insisted that he is fully focused on Ipswich.
LG: “Everton were watching me at the Fleetwood game, they’re happy with my progress. I’m focusing on Ipswich Town for now.”
