Tottenham is seriously considering a January move for AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko, according to the Mirror.
The Bosnian joined Roma from Manchester City in the summer of 2015. He enjoyed a stunning campaign in 2016/17, scoring 39 goals in all competitions, and has since taken his Roma tally up to 95 goals in just under 200 games.
The Mirror are reporting that Mourinho has sent scouts to watch Dzeko with a view to recruiting the Bosnian in the January transfer window. Spurs are said to be looking for reliable back-up for Harry Kane, who scored twice against Burnley on Saturday.
It is believed Mourinho wants to make sure Tottenham are prepared for a scenario in which Kane could pick up an injury like last season. Llorente helped the Londoners reach the Champions League final in Kane’s absence with vital contributions against Manchester City and Ajax.
Dzeko would certainly be a useful addition to the squad, but questions will be raised over whether he will be happy with a lack of game time at Spurs.
