It wasn’t too long ago that Tashan Oakley-Boothe was thought of as a future first-team starby many at Tottenham (Football.London).
Tashan, who rose through the ranks at Tottenham, impressed during a pe-season game against La Liga side Girona back in 2018.
It’s fair to say that many spurs supporters fancied him to be the next midfield ace from the academy to break into the first team following in the footsteps of Harry Winks.
The 19-y-o career as stalled a little due to injury problems since then, and he has been overtaken by the likes of Luke Amos and Oliver Skipp.
It was still a surprise when Tottenham announced on deadline day that they had reached a deal with Stoke City on the permanent transfer of Tashan Oakley-Boothe.
The midfielder has since posted to Twitter to send an emotional message thanking everybody at the spurs for their part in his development.
Firstly I’d like to start by thanking @SpursOfficial coaches, staff, fans and everyone that was there for me. Its been a huge journey for the last 12yrs full of ups and downs but ultimately enabled me to grow as a character. Tottenham will always have a place within my heart👋🏽… pic.twitter.com/V4YLBsBbJc
