According to reports from Football Insider, Jose Mourinho will make an attempt to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the summer but will face a struggle as Southampton wants him to stay.
Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has made it clear that he wants club captain Hojbjerg to remain on the south coast after Tottenham have reportedly made him a priority to land him in the summer window.
Spurs attempted to sign him in January and it looks like they plan to do the same again for the Danish midfielder.
The 24-y-o has featured in 27 matches this season and has already appeared 103 times in the Premier League for the Saints.
It is clear to see why Hasenhuttl wants the central midfielder to remain at the club as he has been pivotal to Southampton’s season.
Even though he doesn’t provide a lot of goals and assists, Hojbjerg has made 81 accurate long passes this season, emphasising how key he is at changing the game from defence to attack. (Premier League)
