Manchester United have now led the race for Sunderland wonderkid Joe Hugill, according to the Sun.
The 16-year-old striker is not only highly ranked within Sunderland ranks but is also attracting interests from a number of clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham.
Tottenham were rumoured to be the frontrunners to get Joe Hugill signature but Manchester United seems to have intervened and are now leading the race, according to the report.
With Spurs failing to act quickly, it is believed that United can get the deal done if they splash out a six-figure fee. Manchester United are currently in the rebuilding process are keen to sign talented youngsters as a part of their recruitment policy. They believe that Hugill will develop out into an excellent player in the future.
This season, Hugill has appeared in 7 games for the Black Cats in the Premier League 2 and U18 Premier League competitions. He as scored three goals in those appearances.
