Will West Ham finally get the striker they wanted for years?

West Ham and Michy Batshuayi are the two names that never fail to appear in every transfer window of a few years now.

The Belgian striker moved to London rivals Chelsea in 2016 for a reported price of around  £33million. However, it was reported that West Ham were also running for his signature in 2016. Since then, West Ham have been linked to the Batshuayi in all the subsequent transfer window. However, the deal never came to fruition, even though the Blues have loaned out the Belgian three times until now.

He spent one year at Borrusia Dortmund in 2017/18 and another at Valencia and Crystal Palace in 2018/19.

Mauricio Pochettino’s major target if he is appointed Newcastle manager

Batshuyai has never properly established himself as a first-choice striker at Chelsea and even falling to third-choice on occasions. This season, however, Chelsea decided to keep him at the club. In the 13 appearances, he could manage all season, he scored 6 goals. He could only manage to start one Premier league game.

As Chelsea are chasing the signing of Batshuyai’s Belgian compatriot Dries Mertens, he might be deemed as surplus in the coming transfer window, according to Belgian outlet HLN. The outlet also states that West Ham may finally get their man after years of chasing him.

We may finally see the match made in the rumour mill.
