Leeds United have made a last-ditch move to sign Sunderland promising striker Joe Hugill, according to Football Insider.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Joe Hugill is set to move to Manchester United but Leeds want to make a surprise attempt to see whether they can change the decision in their favour. The report states that “ the club have made a move for Hugill and offered him a professional contract ahead of his 17th birthday”.
But unfortunately, all the Leeds effort is likely to go in vain as the 16-year-od striker has already decided to move to Manchester United.
However, Manchester United are yet to agree on compensation with Sunderland and it is believed that a fee of around £300,000 will be sufficient enough.
It would have been a very good move for Leeds considering their policy of investing on young talents.
