Leeds are in the race to sign Reading’s 19-year-old striker Danny Loader for free at the end of the season.
Reading have withdrawn their new contract offer for the player which was reported to be in the region of £9,000-per-week due to the financial difficulties created by the coronavirus pandemic.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Reading will only be entitled to a small compensation fee from the club that takes the striker.
Just last season, it was reported that Danny Loader had agreed with terms with Wolves. However, Reading pulled the plugs on the deal. The decision could come back to haunt them as their striker could leave for almost nothing just a year later.
According to the Daily Mail, this situation has alerted a number of clubs, including Leeds, Swansea and Crystal Palace.
Loader has made 12 appearances in all competition for Leeds this season. However, he only has managed to score one goal in those appearances.
