Chelsea have 12 days if they want to sign Timo Werner for the release clause fee of €55m (£49m) as the clause expires on June 15.
Chelsea have shown interest to bring Timo Werner to Stamford Bridge and with the forward’s release clause set to expire, they need to act quickly if they want to get the striker before their rivals. Sky Sports reports that the clause will expire on June 15.
Liverpool are a long-term admirer of the 24-year-old German forward and Manchester United have also registered their interest in him.
Werner is one of the hottest forward in the transfer market right now. He has already contributed to 31 goals in all competition this season.
Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann feels that their forward can decide on his future.
“There is nothing we can do about it.
“He knows what he has in Leipzig and also what he has with me.
“I show him that — he gets many chances to develop himself. I don’t know if it will help him that much if I tell him every day.
“A player has to feel that he can get better. If he doesn’t feel that, it wouldn’t do any good if I kept on telling him to stay here.
“In the end, it is his life, his career, he can decide that. I can’t think of anything new to say to Timo.”
