Leeds United are keeping track of highly rated Peterborough United forward Ricky-Jade Jones but face competition from Premier League clubs for his signature.
The 17-year-old has been attracting a lot of interest from a number of English clubs and Leeds United are following the situation too. Barry Fry, the director of football at Peterborough that a number of Premier League clubs and Leeds United have asked the club about the availability of their talented forward.
Despite his young age, Ricky-Jade Jones is already making an impact for his team and has scored 5 goals in 16 appearances for the club this season.
In an interview with Sky Sports, when asked about his idol, the forward replied Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
“Marcus Rashford because the way he broke into the team was similar to me and my upbringing. I watch Rashford a lot and learn from him.”
However, he thinks that he has a playing style similar to Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
“I look at teams like Leicester and players like Jamie Vardy. I think I’m suited to [being] a Vardy-type of player.”
Leeds will have to come through stiff competition from the Premier League heavy hitters if they want the wonderkid in their books.
