Everton set to lose player who had already passed the medical with them

While Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes might have already passed the medical with Everton, he might end up with the Italian club Napoli.

Everton seemed to have completed the medical with Gabriel Magalhaes back in February, as per Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, via HITC, but they are now hesitating to make the final move due to the financial uncertainties created by the pandemic.

Everton’s hesitance has become Carlo Ancellotti’s former club Napoli’s gain as the Italian side have seem to be the frontrunner to sign the defender. However, the transfer is not completed yet as Napoli and the player are still not in agreement with regards to the player’s wage.

He is reportedly seeking £45,000-a-week while Napoli are only offering £35,000-a-week. Furthermore, Napoli need to sell a non-EU player to register Gabriel.

So, it is not yet too late for Everton to move for the defender, a position that they have been looking to recruit in the coming transfer window.
